How Does McBride Keep Track of Regulatory Changes?

Regulations. They’re long, complicated and incredibly important.

They help us to make sure we’re covering all our bases – that we produce all our products responsibly, and that the whole industry is working to the same rules.
What often gets overlooked are the people who help us apply those regulations to our products – the people who translate the jargon and make sure we’re compliant.

At McBride, we have a team of regulatory experts working in-house to track and interpret new and upcoming legislation across the European Union and the UK. They spend their days looking ahead – anticipating what rules are coming down the line, and how we will need to apply them to our products, our packaging and our processes. McBride operates across multiple markets, with a broad product portfolio and complex supply chains, so it’s a tricky job that requires an ability to analyse the regulatory landscape and make practical decisions against tight timeframes.

Coming up on the horizon at the moment are the new EU rules aimed at making environmental claims more reliable and transparent (often referred to as the EMPCO).

Thanks to our regulatory team McBride is prepared, safe in the knowledge that our claims are clear, specific and backed by evidence.

Good intentions matter, but they definitely aren’t enough on their own. For sustainability commitments to count, they need regulation, evidence and careful judgment, and that kind of work often happens behind the scenes.
