Following the release of our annual report, we’re taking a moment to look back at everything we’ve achieved in the last financial year. First up, how we’ve been focusing on education throughout our whole business.

 

It’s crucial to us that everyone at McBride is able to do their job safely, no matter what their role is in the company. This means that health and safety education is a priority for everyone and we always aspire to improve in every way we can.

Over the past year, we have held a series of health & safety workshops to ensure everyone was aware of their role in ensuring a safe workplace. The workshops encouraged everyone, from executives to frontline supervisors, to lead by example and be accountable for safety and health outcomes.

We’ve been working together with DEKRA, a global leader in health and safety since 1925, to learn how leadership behaviours influence safety culture, and worked with site managers to develop specific local actions to meet the safety needs of each site.

We’re proud to say that all the work we’ve done on health and safety resulted in a 36% decrease in lost time injuries across the last financial year.

It’s by talking and listening to each other that we can discover the health and safety needs of our team, this allows McBride to continue to strengthen its health and safety culture across all areas of the business.
