McBride’s Sustainability Board Meetings

If there’s one thing we’ve learned during our efforts to drive further sustainability improvements, it’s that making changes is a whole-team effort – and we all need to hold each other accountable. Making promises is all well and good, but they don’t mean anything if we don’t stick to them.

That’s why we’ve put a lot of thought into how we govern and oversee our sustainability commitments. Every quarter, we meet with our board to discuss sustainability. We present the progress we’ve made, and the board tracks whether we’re on target to meet our goals.

But there’s another second purpose behind our sustainability board meetings: education.

We use each of these quarterly meetings to train our board members on a different environmental issue, such as water usage or carbon accounting.

It’s vital to us that everyone involved in McBride is on the same page about why sustainability is so crucial.

Do you have any sustainability targets for this year? How will you hold yourself accountable?
