Climate Literacy Training

We’re currently training all 3,500 of our McBride colleagues in climate literacy.

That means we’re investing resources in making sure absolutely everyone on the McBride team understands the impact of their daily activities on the environment. Our colleagues should feel empowered to reduce their personal carbon emissions and contribute to the reduction of our company’s emissions.

We’re training people in lots of different ways:

  • We’ve introduced an 8-hour, in-person certified Carbon Literacy® training course, which has already seen 101 staff members make personal and work-based commitments to tackling their carbon emissions (and we have another 100 colleagues lined up to attend the course early next year).
  • We’ve developed an online course on climate awareness to help everyone at McBride understand exactly how they can tackle the climate crisis across our many different departments (from R&D to Logistics to HR and everything in between).
  • Meanwhile, we’ve also developed a series of bite-sized content in local languages, which ensures everyone at McBride is part of the conversation around carbon, no matter their role.

What’s fantastic is that the ripple effects of our approach are already becoming clear.

When our first group of McBride colleagues completed their eight-hour course, they said they left the room with a completely new understanding of what they could do to help the planet.

What had started as a shared sense of uncertainty had turned into ideas, actions and a real sense of shared responsibility.

Stay tuned to learn more about McBride’s sustainability initiatives over the coming months!
