We have an exciting opportunity to join one of Europe’s leading manufacturer’s based in North Manchester.
McBride is the leading supplier of Private Label Household and professional cleaning/hygiene products for Europe's largest and most successful retailers as well as producing own brand products.
A multi-faceted marketing role leading and developing a team of 3. Accountable for Dishwash and Cleaners Categories. Leading category direction, and supporting the Group Marketing function with local plans and insight.Re-develop the marketing planning process.
Lead team to facilitate the delivery of sustainable, profit driving, 3 year local (UK) Dishwash and Cleaners plans.
Develop and implement profit driving, 3 year brand plan for the UK’s no.1 oven cleaning brand Oven Pride
Lead creative development and agency management for category and brands above
Oversee Insight for the UK, budget responsibility and line management in this area.
What you will do
CATEGORY AND BRAND MANAGEMENT / ACCOUNTABILITY
Oversee the development of sustainable profitable rolling 3 year local category plans for Dishwash and Cleaners and brand plan for Oven Pride
Lead and develop 2 Marketing Manager roles in this remit
Lead and present category and brand strategies to internal and external customers, ensuring all parties are fully equipped with support materials and have a clear understanding
Responsible for ongoing improvement of the category review process, working with peers to deliver best in class executable model
Monitor brand and category performance using internal and external measures and implement corrective action as required to retrieve deficits, performing regular health checks as required.
Work with sales and customers to influence category initiatives, driven through consumer and shopper insights
Lead category and brand market research projects, as required, to understand any key marketing issues, test new opportunities and validate assumptions.
Develop and lead advertising activities required to deliver the brand strategy for Oven Pride. Monitor and evaluate marketing campaign performance against targets, recommending corrective action where necessary.
Work closely with Group / R&D / Packaging functions to bring strategic NPD projects to fruition within targets
Lead on strategic projects, ensuring all processes are followed, financial evaluations/ justifications completed, and delivery is on time and in budget.
Develop and lead pricing and promotional strategies for the brand portfolio across customer base
Oversee the provision of comprehensive briefs consistent with category and brand requirements to meet agreed comms objectives.
Proactively identify opportunities through analysis, intelligence and business competence and compile
commercial proposals for the business
To commission market research, as required, to understand any key marketing issues, test new opportunities and validate assumptions
Use numerous data sources to generate actionable insights that identify category growth opportunities
Ensure trade marketing initiatives deliver ROI and build BIC case studies for future activities. Work with the internal Finance team and external media agencies to review post campaign effectiveness
UK DATA AND INSIGHT LEAD
Autonomy to procure the UK market data and insight requirements; i.e. Kantar, Dunnhumby, Edge by
Ascential, adhoc market research and market intelligence sources; i.e. IGD, et al. within annual basic budget
Lead and develop the Marketing Insight Executive role in this remit
Guide and advise on actionable insights and market performance analysis, at ease understanding and internal and external data
Delivering industry and business market and insight best practise, importantly abreast of key market changes and advising consequences to the business
Oversees work to support Business Unit Director Senior Meetings and McBride Financial Analyst with Market Data a key Interim Trading Statements
Work with Sales and build focal relationships with strategic customers, be a trusted category advisor;
Conduct customer category reviews and regular performance category/range analysis
Creative execution of ideas and recommendations
Qualifications and Experience
- Ambassador of McBride principles, leading by example
- Highly effective in knowing which communication method is most appropriate for a given situation
- Consistent in active listening to understand others’ points of view
- Experienced leading and developing a small team
- Competent in managing people, working in teams, encouraging accountability and results focused, engages with and develops the team
- Confident to take the lead and accountability, move with pace, without hesitation to solve problems quickly.
- Degree in Marketing or related subject
- Minimum of 5 years marketing experience in FMCG environment
- Understanding and working appreciation of UK Grocery retailing
- Proven experience of developing and implementing multi-disciplined marketing plans
- Strong working knowledge of using market data systems and generating insights and translation of data into actionable insights that deliver growth
- Experience of developing and deli
- Delivering NPD, EPD & COP through a logically planned process
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Full UK driving licence
- Ideally CIM qualified
- Ideally some past experience working with Private Label products
