Our company history

An introduction to McBrideCamille Simon and his market stall, the early day's of McBride

McBride's history has been characterised by growth through innovation since 1898, when a laundry-owner began our story by developing a cleaning product from an extract of soap. The culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that was evident in those early days still pervades all aspects of McBride's operation today.

The company is vastly different when compared to its roots as a local cottage industry, today it is a
multinational business with a turnover of over £500m, operating out of fifteen factories in six countries, on a scale that would be impossible to comprehend by the founders of McBride.

But technological advances are tied into an ethos which maintains the original customer focus: the laundry, household cleaning and personal care products currently supplied to over 70 countries are direct descendants from the bleach it delivered in glass bottles to local corner shops in North Manchester.
